BDO was ment to be Single-player and you'll start to notice that with the graphics pop-ins and NPC dialogs and other crap, but instead they were like ohh lets make it MP and live of it.

Lets just put it this way, who ever has full PEN which is the max enchantment on the gear spectrum, will clap ur cheecks no matter HOW skillful you are loll, i wanna quit this game but i've already invested HOURS and $ into it, the PVP is garbage and i'm sure some dumbass is gonna be like "Gitgud" loll bruh i'm full pen and the combat is still ♥♥♥♥ in pvp. Set your own goal and have the freedom to whatever you like Slightly p2w and comparable to WoW in that term You goal could be as simple as: "I'm gonna build a big ass ship to sail the ocean" and that would already be a challenge. You choose if you want to be a genius at trading and manipulating the market, a guy that grinds for exp or money non-stop, someone who just goes around and PvPs random people etc. The game doesn't tell you "go there and do that", like it kinda would with classic mmorpgs like FF14 or WoW. It's also a game where you have to set your own goal. Which also means that you can buy stuff from others without spending a single cent, if you play a lot and generate the silver needed that is. You can buy stuff, put it on the market (WoW tokens) for silver. In terms of "p2w" it's comparable to WoW. Some people might argue that the game is "p2w" and it's kind of a hot topic in the Steam forums, but I can assure you that I've seen worse. You can't really rush that part, even if you spend hundreds of dollars you won't have endgame equip right away. Getting equipment IS your endgame goal, basically. Life skills are more important in BDO than in any other MMO I've played. I did not get attacked and I didn't attack anyone, even at popular spots with a lot of people there. A good example: Been grinding from lvl 1 to 62 on my new character and haven't fought a single person. It is open world PvP, yes, that doesn't mean it's a PvP game. And no, the game is not really PvP focused.

A lot of grinding and dedication is a must if you want to be "successful". BDO is more tailored to hardcore oldschool players. It's not comparable to WoW or FF14 where questing and socializing means more.
